If by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard);

Faithfulness is not always comfortable. Sometimes it carries an internal tension, a struggle of living in a place that does not reflect what we know to be true.
Day after day, Lot felt it. The gap between what surrounded him and what he knew. The pressure of living in a world that moved in a different direction.
The tension, while difficult, is not meaningless. It is often the evidence of a heart that has not conformed.
When the truth is rooted in us, we feel when something is off. We sense when something is misaligned.
That tension can be heavy, but it also keeps us anchored.
Lord, we confess how often we try to escape the tension instead of allowing it to shape us. Thank You that even in discomfort, You are forming us. Help us remain faithful and grounded in truth. We surrender our desire for ease and trust You in the tension.
