And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
2 Peter 2:3
We tend to assume that what is wrong will go unnoticed, or at least unresolved. That time will somehow soften the consequences or remove accountability altogether.
Peter reminds us that nothing escapes God’s attention.
Not in a way that should produce fear for those in Christ, but in a way that affirms His justice.
Because God is not indifferent.
He is not unaware.
He is not passive in the face of what distorts truth and harms others.
And that truth steadies us. Not because we celebrate judgment, but because we trust God to be just where we cannot be.
Lord, we confess how often we assume that what is wrong will go unaddressed. Thank You that You are both just and righteous in all Your ways. Help us trust Your timing and Your judgment. We release our need to control outcomes and rest in Your justice.
Trusting His Justice,
eep
