For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.
1 Peter 2:19
Peter introduces a sacred phrase: “mindful of God.” Suffering becomes spiritually formative when we are aware of God’s presence.
We endure differently when we live with heaven in view while walking through hardship on earth. Knowing that God is near and attentive can bring comfort and strength, even when relief is delayed.
Suffering without God can harden us, but remembering God’s faithfulness refines us, inspiring believers to seek His presence during hardships.
Lord, help us remain mindful of You when pain feels undeserved. Guide us to pray for strength and focus, lifting our eyes above our circumstances and anchoring our hearts in Your presence.
Aware of His Nearness,
