But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Peter 2:1
There is a kind of denial that is not loud, not confrontational, not even intentional at first. It happens in the way truth is softened, in the way Christ is minimized, in the way authority is slowly replaced with preference.
Not rejecting Him outright but redefining Him subtly.
And over time, that shift alters the standard. Because when Jesus is no longer at the center, fully Lord, fully authoritative, something else takes His place.
Our preferences.
Our reasoning.
Our comfort.
But the gospel never leaves room for a diminished Christ. The One who gave Himself for us is not just our Savior; He is our Master and Lord.
And following Him means more than agreement; it means submission.
Lord, we acknowledge how easily we reshape You to fit our lives instead of allowing our lives to be shaped by You. Thank You for the truth of who You are, unchanging, sovereign, and good. Align our hearts fully under Your authority. We yield again to You as Lord over every part of our lives.
