Eternal and Incomparable

1 Peter 1:18-19

Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
1 Peter 1:18–19

Gold and silver impress us; they catch the light, they hold their value, and they symbolize wealth. But Peter calls them perishable. They tarnish. They fade. They stay behind when we die.

Our ransom required something eternal.

The precious blood of Christ is not merely costly; it is incomparable. No currency in heaven or on earth could match its worth. It is the price of our salvation and the measure of our value.

God did not redeem us with what was cheap, but with what was priceless.

There is no greater statement of our worth than the cross.

Jesus, thank You for redeeming us with Your own blood. Let the worth of Your sacrifice shape how we see ourselves and how we live today.
