You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:5
Peter shifts from the individual to the communal. God is not constructing isolated monuments; He is building a dwelling place.
Each believer is a living stone; intentionally shaped, placed, and fitted. The process is active, ongoing, and sometimes uncomfortable. Stones are shaped through pressure before they are placed with purpose.
Notice again the passive voice: “you are being built.” God is the architect. Our role is availability, not control.
Christian growth does not happen in isolation. We are formed in community through shared faith, shared burdens, and shared hope.
We are not extra pieces. We are part of God’s design.
Master Builder, help us trust the place You have given us among Your people. Shape us, use us, and teach us to live faithfully within Your design.
Trusting His Placement,
