For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
1 Peter 2:25
Peter ends this chapter not with command, but comfort. The Shepherd does not abandon wandering sheep. He seeks, restores, and keeps.
We did not find our way back. He found us.
Grace is not reactive; it is pursuing. The Shepherd goes after wandering sheep with patience and persistence.
Our consistency does not hold us; His love and care hold us.
We belong because He refuses to let us go.
Jesus is not only our Savior; He is our Guardian. He watches over what we cannot protect.
Our souls rest secure under His care.
We are never unsupervised in grace.
Good Shepherd, thank You for bringing us home. Keep us close to You and lead us in paths of peace and trust.
Safe in His Care,
eep
