2 Peter 1:15

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.
2 Peter 1:15

Peter knows his time is short, and that awareness shapes the way he writes.

What matters most to him is not preserving his own reputation or accomplishments but strengthening others in truth after he is gone.

Peter is thinking beyond himself.

He labors carefully and intentionally so that believers will continue to stand firm long after his voice is silent. Because Peter understands something we often forget: the greatest legacy is not personal success, but enduring faith passed from one life to another.

The truth we teach matters.
The faithfulness we model matters.
The encouragement we give matters.

Peter’s concern is not simply that believers remember him, but that they remember the truth that shaped him. He wants them anchored in Christ, grounded in Scripture, and strengthened for the future.

Our most enduring influence often comes quietly through daily obedience, consistent love, and steady truth lived before others. Faith is not meant to end with us; it is meant to continue through us.

Lord, we confess how easily we focus on what is immediate instead of what is eternal. Thank You for the people who faithfully invested truth into our lives. Help us live in such a way that others are strengthened long after our words are gone. We surrender temporary pursuits and choose what will last beyond us.
