Purpose in Order

1 Peter 2:14

Or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.
1 Peter 2:14

Peter reminds believers that authority, even when imperfect, is meant to restrain chaos. Order is not oppression; it is mercy. A world without restraint is not freedom, it is fear.

This verse does not deny corruption or abuse of power. Scripture never pretends authority is flawless. But Peter insists that God still works through structure to preserve life and promote good.

Sometimes obedience is not affirmation; it is participation in peace.

God of order, help us respect the boundaries You allow for the sake of peace. Teach usto trust You when systems fall short, knowing You remain in control.

Resting in His Sovereignty,
