Unfailing Foundation

1 Peter 2:6

For it stands in Scripture:
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
1 Peter 2:6

Peter anchors everything in promise. Faith in Christ never ends in disgrace, even when obedience feels costly or misunderstood.

The promise is steady and reassuring: whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame. Shame whispers that we have trusted the wrong thing, that when life presses in, our foundation will fail. Peter says it will not.

Shame tells us that trust will eventually betray us. God tells us the opposite. Hope in Christ is never misplaced. The world may reject Him, but heaven has already declared Him victorious.

To believe is not to avoid hardship; it is to rest in assurance. If our life is built on Christ, the storms may come, but the foundation will hold.

The honor, Peter says, belongs to those who believe, not because we chose wisely, but because God laid the right stone.

We must ask ourselves a simple question: “On what am I really standing? Success? Approval? Control? Or Christ?

Only one cornerstone can carry the weight of our souls.

Father, thank You for laying a foundation that will never fail. When I am tempted to build my life on things that cannot last, draw my heart back to Christ. Help me trust Him fully, rest on Him daily, and live without shame because my hope is secure in Him.

Standing on What is Sure,
