Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

Peter brings everything he has said to a quiet but weighty conclusion. If this future is real, if Christ is coming, if the world will be renewed, if righteousness will dwell, then how should we live while we wait?
His answer is simple, but not small: “Be diligent.” Not anxious. Not frantic. But intentional. Thoughtful. Steady.
Because waiting is not passive; it shapes us. It reveals us. It forms habits, priorities, and patterns that, over time, become the life we are living.
And Peter frames it in a deeply personal way: “to be found by Him.” Not just to be doing the right things, but to live in such a way that, when Christ returns, our lives are aligned with Him. Not perfect, but pointed in the right direction. Not flawless, but faithful.
We are not trying to earn His approval; we are to live in light of His presence. The One we wait for is the One who already sees us. And knowing that changes how we live when no one else is watching.
Lord, we confess that we often drift into passivity or distraction while we wait. Thank You for calling us into purposeful, faithful living. Shape our days so they reflect Your presence and Your priorities. We offer our lives to You again and ask that when we are found, we would be found near Your heart.
