But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Peter returns to the language of remembering. Do not overlook. Do not miss this. Do not let your mind slip past something essential. That alone tells us how easy it is to lose perspective when we are waiting.
And waiting does that to us. It narrows our vision. It makes the present feel larger than it is and eternity feel farther away than it is. The burden before us begins to define the whole story. The delay feels like the truth. The silence feels like the answer.
Peter gently interrupts that drift. Beloved, do not overlook this. In other words, do not let the pressure of the moment make you forget God’s character. Do not let your limited vantage point become the measure of what is real.
We need those interruptions. We need God to stop us in the middle of our hurry, our impatience, our confusion, and say, “Look again. Think again. Remember again.” Not because He is harsh, but because He is kind. He knows how easily we mistake delay for abandonment and slowness for absence.
Lord, we confess how quickly we lose perspective when life does not move at the pace we hoped. Thank You for speaking into our impatience with tenderness and truth. Lift our eyes above the moment, steady our hearts in Your character, and teach us to remember what matters most. We yield our limited perspective and ask You to train us to see time through the lens of Your faithfulness.
