If he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2 Peter 2:5
The story of Noah reminds us that God’s judgment and God’s preservation often move together. While the flood came in response to widespread corruption, Noah was preserved not because he was perfect but because he walked with God.
In the middle of judgment, there was rescue.
In the midst of corruption, there was righteousness.
And that pattern still holds. God sees both: the brokenness of the world and the faithfulness of His people.
Sometimes it can feel like faithfulness is unnoticed, like obedience is unseen. But Noah’s story reminds us that God does not overlook those who walk with Him.
He preserves.
He sustains.
He keeps.
Not always by removing us from difficulty, but by holding us steady within it.
Lord, we confess that we sometimes wonder if faithfulness matters in a world that feels increasingly distant from You. Thank You that You see, sustain, and preserve Your people. Strengthen us to walk with You, even when it feels unnoticed. We entrust our lives to Your care and remain faithful in Your presence.
