And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.

It is sobering to realize that what is popular is not always what is true. That what draws a crowd is not always what leads to life.
Peter does not say “a few”; he says “many.”
Because there is something in us that is drawn toward what feels easier, what feels affirming, what removes tension rather than calling us through it.
Truth can feel narrow.
Grace can be misunderstood.
Obedience can feel costly.
The path of least resistance often gathers the most attention.
But numbers have never been the measure of truth. Faithfulness has.
And the invitation is not to follow what is easiest, but to remain with what is true.
Lord, we confess how easily we are influenced by what is popular or widely accepted. Thank You for calling us into a life that is grounded in truth, not trends. Give us courage to walk faithfully, even when it feels costly. We release our desire to fit in and choose to follow You fully.
