Recall

2 Peter 1:15

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.
2 Peter 1:15

Peter’s aim is lasting remembrance.

Because in moments of pressure, confusion, fear, or temptation, we do not rise to new information; we return to remembered truth.

What has been rehearsed in us is what steadies us.

Truth recalled becomes strength.
Truth remembered becomes clarity.
Truth revisited becomes stability.

This is why reminders matter so much in the Christian life. We need to continually return to God’s Word because our hearts are prone to drift and our minds are quick to forget.

Faithfulness is sustained not by discovering something new, but by remembering what has always been true.

We return repeatedly to Scripture.
We rehearse the promises of God.
We remind ourselves of the gospel.
We anchor our hearts in truth that does not change.

And over time, those truths become deeply rooted within us, sustaining us through every season.

Father, we confess how quickly we forget what we already know. Thank You for the truth that remains steady when everything else shifts. Help us remember what matters when we need it most. Root Your Word deeply in our hearts so that we remain steadfast in every season. We surrender our forgetfulness and return again to what is true.
