Wisdom of Mortality

2 Peter 1:14

Since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.
2 Peter 1:14

Peter writes with unusual clarity.

There is no illusion here. No avoidance. No pretending time is endless.

He understands his life is temporary, and that awareness shapes the way he lives.

Because the recognition of our mortality has a way of sharpening what matters most.

It quiets the trivial.
It exposes the temporary.
It elevates the eternal.

When we remember that our days are limited, we begin to spend them more wisely.

Not on what fades, but on what lasts.
Not on what impresses, but on what endures.

And slowly, our priorities begin to align with eternity.

Lord, we confess how easily we live as though time is unlimited. Thank You for the perspective that calls us back to what matters most. Teach us to number our days with wisdom, purpose, and eternal vision. We surrender wasted time and choose to invest our lives in what will last forever.

Living with Clarity,
