Dominion Forever

1 Peter 5:11

To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:11

After speaking of suffering and restoration, Peter pauses to worship.

“To Him be the dominion forever and ever.”

Dominion means authority, rule, and sovereign power. It is the reminder that above every earthly struggle and every spiritual battle stands the unchallenged reign of God.

Peter has just warned about the prowling adversary. Yet he does not end with the lion’s roar. He ends with the King’s rule.

That shift in perspective matters.

When we focus only on the threats around us, fear grows easily. But when we remember who ultimately holds authority over history, our hearts find steadiness again.

God’s reign is not fragile. It does not flicker with changing circumstances. His dominion is enduring and unshakable.

Peter closes this moment of praise with a simple word: “Amen.”

Truly. Certainly. So be it.

The God who calls His people through trials is the same God who reigns over every moment of their lives.

King of Glory, we confess that we sometimes focus more on threats than on Your throne. Thank You that Your dominion is forever. Help us live with confidence in Your sovereign rule.

Under His Dominion,

eep
