Humble Courage

1 Peter 3:5-6

For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.
1 Peter 3:5–6

Peter now points backward to faithful women in Scripture. He reminds his readers that this way of life is not new. It is rooted in a long history of trust.

These women were not flawless.

But they were anchored.

Their hope was not in circumstances.
Not in security.
Not in relationships.

Their hope was in God.

Sarah followed Abraham into uncertainty, famine, and danger. She trusted God when life felt unstable. Her obedience flowed from faith, not fear.

True biblical submission grows from confidence in God’s sovereignty. It is courage wrapped in humility. Trust expressed through obedience.

What we believe shapes how we live.

How we live shapes those who follow.

Spiritual influence always flows from spiritual roots.

Faithful God, help us place our hope fully in You. Strengthen our trust when life feels uncertain. Teach us to walk in humble confidence. Let our lives reflect enduring faith.

Anchored in Him,
