He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.
1 Peter 2:22–23
Jesus responded to injustice not with retaliation, but with trust.
Jesus refused to defend Himself because He trusted the Father to vindicate Him. He placed His reputation, future, and justice in God’s hands.
Jesus knew that God’s judgment is perfect, timely, and sufficient. He did not rush to correct every lie.
Neither must we.
God’s truth does not need our panic.
Father, teach us to entrust ourselves to You when wronged. Guard our hearts from bitterness and help us rest in Your justice.
Trusting God,
