Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.
2 Peter 1:20
Truth does not originate with us. It is not shaped by our preferences, adjusted by our opinions, or defined by our perspective.
Scripture is not ours to remake; it is ours to receive.
We do not stand over Scripture deciding which parts we prefer and which parts we reject. We stand under it, allowing God’s Word to correct, guide, and transform us.
That requires humility.
Humility to listen before speaking.
Humility to submit before resisting.
Humility to trust God’s wisdom above our own understanding.
Because whenever God’s truth confronts us, we are faced with a decision: will we reshape truth to fit ourselves, or will we allow truth to reshape us?
Lord, we confess how often we try to shape truth to fit our preferences. Thank You that Your Word stands above us. Teach us to approach it with humility and reverence. We surrender control and submit to Your truth.
Humbled Before the Word,
eep
